Time for some me-talk…
Hello to all of you!
My Name is An-Sofie, I’m a 19 year old girl, living in Belgium. Right now I’m studying history at Ghent University, and altough they might say second year is easier, I’ve never had less work for school. They keep on giving us tasks, papers and literature lists to write, and then of course read the books on those lists, lots and lots of stuff.
But there’s also the fun stuff of life, so here’s a list of my favourite things.
- Travelling. There is nothing I enjoy as much as getting to know different cultures, countries and cities. My favourite destinations, of the countries where I’ve already been, are New York, Iceland and Paris. The places I still want to go to, is more or less the rest of the world.
- History. Really, and I know I sound terribly boring when I say it, there’s nothing I like more then finding out how things were in the past, and why. I think it’s fascinating how history sometimes repeats itself.
- Movies. This is some kind of escapism, but there’s nothing I like more then going to see a movie in the theatres, alone or with friends. I also have the bad habit of watching movies instead of studying or doing something useful.
- Music. Nothing better to soothe a heartbreak then some music. I’m kind of a loud person, but when it comes to what I really feel, deep down, I often find it hard to tell people what’s it like, also because I don’t like showing people what I’m really like. I often listen to a song and then think, why can’t I explain myself the way they can…
- Books. Yet again, escapism. Hiding and searching in a world where I don’t really belong, in worlds where nobody really belongs, to be lonely amongst the lonely.
There’s lots more I like, and don’t like, but that will have to wait until next time. Right now, it’s time for me to sleep. Sometimes I have the feeling that it doesn’t matter how much I sleep, I’ll still never be fit, I’ll remain tired, and never be really awake. So, let’s see what it’s like today and tomorrow…
